I. The Smell That Started It
Eighth grade locker room. Dylan pulls off his cleats and peels off his white Nike socks—worn, stained, the kind that held game-day sweat like a secret. Evan almost dropped his water bottle.
“Dude, these things reek,” Dylan laughs, tossing one to a teammate.
Evan doesn’t laugh. He just watches. Dylan’s bare feet flex on the tile, pink and calloused. The socks land near Evan’s bag. He doesn’t touch them. Not then.
That night, Evan dreams of them. Of Dylan’s feet on his chest. Of the scent of domination and safety and dirt and glory. He wakes hard.
And confused. But also—sure.
II. Locker Rooms and Lingering Looks
High school. Dylan’s a god now. The socks get dirtier. He owns the field. Evan gets weirder. Keeps his head down. Studies. Stares.
One day in sophomore year, Dylan shoves his socked foot into Evan’s lap on the bus as a joke.
“Smell this. Bet you won’t.”
Evan doesn’t even hesitate. He presses his nose to the fabric. Everyone howls. Dylan blinks.
“Yo. You’re wild, bro.”
Evan shrugs, heart pounding. “You dared me.”
Dylan never brings it up again. But after that, he never pulls away when Evan sits close. At practice, he tosses his socks toward Evan more often. A quiet game. A language.
III. Senior Year Sleepover
It’s just them. Dylan’s girl is out of town. Evan’s acting normal. Movie night. Pizza. Dylan’s feet in socks up on the couch. Evan’s right beside them.
“I should probably wash these,” Dylan mutters.
“You could let me,” Evan says. He doesn’t mean laundry.
Dylan freezes. Then snorts. “You’re seriously into that, huh?”
Evan nods. “It’s not a joke.”
Dylan doesn’t say yes. But he doesn’t say no. He just presses his socked sole against Evan’s thigh.
That night, Evan gets on his knees.
Nothing else. Just reverence. Tongue to cotton. Scent. Submission. Dylan watches, says nothing, just breathes.
It’s enough.
IV. Years Later
Dylan’s married. Kind of. Evan’s a ghost on the internet. But one night, they meet again at a bar. Dylan’s socks peek out from his boots. White. Worn.
Evan smiles.
“Still the same?”
Dylan shrugs. “Worse, probably.”
A pause. Then, low:
“You miss it?”
Evan nods. “Always.”
Dylan leans in. “You can have them tonight.”
He peels them off slowly. Hands them to Evan in the parking lot. No words. Just a smirk.
Evan takes them home. Presses them to his face.
Worship never left.
